Business Development Services (BDS) Support Manager
The Position
Steadman Global seeks a skilled and dynamic BDS Support Manager to join our consulting team. The BDS Support Manager will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of business development and enterprise support services for creative industry participants under the project. The role involves managing training programs, mentorship networks, and enterprise clinics to strengthen financial literacy, digital readiness, and business sustainability among MSMEs and individual creatives.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Program Coordination
- Lead Business Development Services (BDS) rollout activities, including business clinics, mentorship programs, and specialized training sessions.
- Coordinate the implementation of ILO SIYB and “Digitalize Your Business” training modules in collaboration with trainers and mentors.
- Supervise the development and distribution of BDS materials, toolkits, and resources for creative MSMEs.
- Oversee enterprise diagnostic assessments and ensure tailored support for participants.
- Work closely with project partners (Bayimba, MCF, ILO, creative hubs, and financial institutions) to align BDS interventions with project objectives.
- Capacity Building & Mentorship
- Support recruitment, orientation, and capacity building of BDS mentors, facilitators, and trainers.
- Facilitate peer learning sessions, mentorship circles, and business advisory clinics for MSMEs.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure high-quality delivery of business support services.
- Market & Financial Linkages
- Identify and strengthen linkages between creatives and financial institutions, accelerators, and investors.
- Support MSMEs to prepare investment proposals and access financing opportunities.
- Coordinate the digital onboarding of MSMEs (web presence, e-commerce, branding, and digital tools).
- Monitoring, Reporting & Learning
- Track progress of BDS-related indicators and prepare timely reports and success stories.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and case studies.
- Support quarterly and annual reporting to funders and project management
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Project Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certification in Business Development, SME Management, or Entrepreneurship is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development support, enterprise growth programs, or SME advisory services.
- Proven experience managing or implementing capacity-building or entrepreneurship programs (preferably donor-funded).
- Experience in the creative industries (music, fashion, arts, media, crafts, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with financial institutions and private sector partners.
- Experience in managing field teams and multiple stakeholders.
